Terms of Service

By accessing this website, making a booking, or participating in any tour offered by Turnip Rock Boat Tours, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Turnip Rock Boat Tours, owned and operated by Michael H. Anderson.

All tour bookings are subject to availability. A booking is not confirmed until you receive a written confirmation from Turnip Rock Boat Tours via email or text message.

By completing a booking, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age, or that you have obtained parental or guardian consent for any minor in your party. You agree to provide accurate and complete information at the time of booking.

The number of passengers listed on your booking may not be exceeded. Exceeding capacity limits is a violation of these terms and may result in refusal of service without a refund.

All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are charged on a per-person basis unless otherwise stated. The price displayed at the time of booking is the price you will be charged.

Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. We accept all major credit and debit cards through our secure payment processor.

Turnip Rock Boat Tours reserves the right to adjust pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect confirmed bookings that have already been paid.

Guest-Initiated Cancellations: If you cancel your booking more than 48 hours before your scheduled departure, you are entitled to a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure are non-refundable. Refunds are not available for no-shows.

Captain-Initiated Cancellations: Turnip Rock Boat Tours reserves the right to cancel any tour at the sole discretion of Captain Michael H. Anderson, including but not limited to cancellations due to unsafe weather conditions, mechanical issues, or insufficient bookings. In such cases, guests will receive either a full refund to their original payment method or the option to reschedule at no additional charge.

Weather cancellations are determined solely by Captain Anderson based on his assessment of safety conditions. Guests do not have the right to demand a tour proceed against the Captain's judgment.

Refunds, when applicable, will be processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method.

All guests are required to: (a) sign a liability waiver before boarding; (b) attend and pay attention to the mandatory pre-departure safety briefing; (c) wear a provided USCG-approved life jacket while underway; (d) follow all instructions given by Captain Anderson at all times.

Guests must disclose any medical conditions, disabilities, or physical limitations that may affect their ability to safely participate in the tour prior to boarding.

Guests under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances will be denied boarding without a refund. No alcohol is permitted on board.

Turnip Rock Boat Tours reserves the right to refuse service to or remove from the vessel any guest who is disruptive, dangerous, or non-compliant with safety rules, without compensation.

Participation in boat tours on Lake Huron inherently involves risk, including but not limited to: rough water conditions, equipment failure, wildlife encounters, weather changes, and the physical demands of water-based activity.

By booking a tour, you acknowledge these risks and agree that Turnip Rock Boat Tours and Captain Michael H. Anderson shall not be liable for any injury, illness, death, property damage, or loss arising out of your participation in a tour, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

A separate liability waiver must be signed by all guests (or a parent/guardian for minors) before boarding. This waiver supplements but does not replace the terms outlined here.

Guests are welcome to take photographs and videos for personal use during tours. By participating in a tour, you grant Turnip Rock Boat Tours a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use any photos or videos you voluntarily share with us for marketing and promotional purposes.

Drone use during tours requires prior approval from Captain Anderson and must comply with all applicable FAA regulations.

All guests are expected to respect the natural environment of Lake Huron and the Turnip Rock formation. Littering, disturbing wildlife, attempting to land on private shoreline, or damaging any natural feature is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate removal from the tour and potential legal consequences.

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, logos, and tour descriptions, is the property of Turnip Rock Boat Tours and is protected by applicable copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on this site without express written permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Turnip Rock Boat Tours' total liability to you for any claim arising from use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific tour giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Huron County, Michigan.

Turnip Rock Boat Tours reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
